If you didn’t know, Destiny 2 is Bungie’s sequel to Destiny. Destiny 2 starts with the enemy attacking The Traveler. After being almost destroyed you set out to help it and take out the enemy. This is a multiplayer-only game and requires a bit of grinding. Whether it be weekly nightfall or doing the daily missions there is always something to grind. The level cap is 950 and after that, you must grind missions for gear that has higher levels and that’s how you will progress after 950. The grind is kind of repetitive in this game so if you don’t have the patience you may find that it becomes bland. Redoing the same missions hoping that the drop is in your favor.
The graphics in the game are done well and look great. All the different planets have their own environment and ecosystems and the byground looks awesome. Beyond that are the mechanics. I personally don’t like the way it feels to shoot a gun. It feels fake and the guns don’t have that good of a recoil system such as Apex Legends. The sounds are kind of weird too, but I sort of expected that from a sci-fi game. There are at least a ton of weapon variations you can unlock some being extremely rare and customized. Grinding for these weapons can take some time but once you get it you will feel blessed. Same thing with armor, tons of different variations some being cool looking.
Multiplayer is straight forward, you have tdm, capture the flag, free for all, and other modes you can play. There are also modes where your armor and stats matter the most and others being more casual making armor stats useless so everybody would be on an even playing field. In my opinion, multiplayer is weird. There aren’t that many players per lobby and it just seems too simple. The maps are made decent, but I didn’t find any map that stood out.
This game is free and if you have the time to continuously grind on it then you will have a fun game. Getting the best armor after completing an extremely difficult raid is very rewarding. But if you are more casual then this game might be too much for you to get the good stuff. It’s a free game so I believe everyone should at least give it a try. If you don’t like it, hey it’s free, if you love it then you should go ahead and buy both of the DLC out right now because it allows for so much more content.
